Julie Lee was raised in a family with musical influences. Her father, Dino Airali, produced Phoebe Snows "Poetry Man" album and worked with greats like Leon Russell, George Harrison, Tom Petty, Joe Cocker, JJ Cale, discovered and signed Melissa Etheridge and many more.  At a young age, Julie was encouraged to write. "My exposure to music was Gladys Night, Aretha Franklin, Persuasions, Waylon Jennings, Leon Russell and so many more. My Dad used to bring home albums and hand them to me. I sat in a bean bag chair reading lyrics, listening to the music, and looking at the album photos for hours with headphones on. My Mom was gracious to allow me to do homework afterwards. I just wanted to learn and play music. That's all I wanted to do and ride horses. My first record was The Monkees."  Having been inspired by many albums, Julie attended Dick Grove Music for three years with the focus on music theory and piano. Shortly after, she joined  a band, The Ventilators, performing throughout Los Angeles, at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium and then playing the Budokan in Tokyo for 10,000 people. " That was incredible." The band was then offered a record deal at EMI Records. Julie also worked singing background vocals at the home of Michael Jackson as they found her voice raw and authentic.  "An engineer had heard me and brought me in a lot."  She then got signed to EMI Records as singer for Foster Sylver’s Band. The successes had many variables and in an industry of ups and downs,  at 32 years old Julie had an opportunity to work in post production for Film and TV. Seeking more stability, she decided to take the career path and did so for 5 years. She then took the entrepreneur path to owning her own post production company with a very talented colorist for another 6 years. The company performed work for Michael Bay, Madonna, Prince, Michael Jackson, Kid Rock, Aerosmith, Jennifer Lopez, Nike, Adidas, and many others.  This was a starter business which grew to have great success. "I had been working at recording studios then at Geffen and then Sony Music. I  saw the studios closing and  the music business really changing. I felt it was a good thing to do.  We did a lot of music videos also and it was great to work with such great artists and clients."  At the dissolve of that company, with the colorist retiring, Julie decided to reinvent her self, re-boot, and put that model of success into herself and once again Julie Lee had her sights on music.  She now writes and performs her own songs in a solo acoustic set, duo set, and with her band, The Julie Lee Band. " I love to write songs. With life experiences I have more to draw from and  I have worked really hard to also pave the way to perform with quality headliners. I really thank Canyon Club Concert Events for bringing me and the band in a lot 0ver the last 7 years. My musicians are amazing. A list players with a discography of their own." Julie has eclectic influences from blues, rock, soul, folk, and southern country rock. She and the band have opened for many acts such as Jefferson Starship, Blood, Sweat, & Tears, The Little River Band, Naked Eyes and in venues such as the Starlight Bowl, Saban Theatre, Canyon Club Events and many more. Capacities have ranged from 500-5000.  '" I got the live show bug when my Dad was tour manager for Leon Russell and I was sitting under Leon's  piano on stage during a show at the Greek Theatre. Yeah that was a trip. I was very young maybe 10 years old"  Julie Lee also performed in a trio band at the Monterey Fair Festival and The Cow Palace. Her songs are streaming globally on a wide range of platforms. (Search Julie lee and song title) "You can reinvent and reboot yourself at any age and I love sharing that mindset and playing live. It’s about connection."  Julie Lee’s songs have won awards and have been accepted for film and tv sync with CBS, Lionsgate Films, Maddoll (a division of Sony Music, and others.
